UNIONVILLE — Taylar Wessner and Annie Prince combined for a three-hit shutout while the Community Viqueens used two three-run innings to pull away and defeat the Central Magnet Lady Tigers 7-0 in a softball contest Thursday night.
After Community (2-1) scored its first run with the help of a Lady Tiger error in the third inning, the Viqueens pulled away with a three-run fourth inning followed by three insurance runs in the sixth, with a single by Alana Tate keying the rally.
Meanwhile, Wessner struck out six while allowing two hits in her five innings of work while Prince pitched the final two innings, striking out three and allowing one hit to get the save.
Chloe West and Zoey Dixon each had two hits to lead the Viqueen eight-hit attack.

Community will hit the road on Tuesday night for a backyard rivalry game at Eagleville.
