Richard Raymond “Rick” Deussen, Jr. age 67, of Shelbyville, passed from this life early Saturday morning, April 6, 2024, at home surrounded by his loved ones and under the care of Alive Hospice.
A California native Rick was born December 10, 1956, in San Diago; he was the son of Dick Deussen and Shirley Ramey Deussen. He was a graduate of Taipei American High School class of 1974 and would earn a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from University of Redlands.
He is survived by loving wife of 37 years, Joy Livingston Deussen of Shelbyville; children, Richard Deussen and wife Andrea of CA, Dan Deussen of Nashville, Henry Deussen of Nashville and Isabelle Deussen of Shelbyville; brothers, Mike Deussen and wife Kathy of CA, Phil Deussen and wife Melissa of CO, and Ed Deussen and wife Joan of AZ; along with several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 14, 2024, First Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Rasnick officiating. Visitation with the family will be held prior to services beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
