A Shelbyville man is charged with aggravated assault after allegedly stabbing another man in the groin during an argument Saturday night.
Frankie Lee Wilhoite, 40, of East Depot Street is being held at Bedford County Jail on $40,000 bond, police said.
The stabbing allegedly occurred in front of Wilhoite’s home when the victim allegedly drove up. Wilhoite had allegedly threatened the victim two weeks earlier, Officer Tracy Teal’s report said.
Wilhoite told Officer Joseph Cleek that the victim punched him first and drove away, then later denied stabbing or knowing the victim.
The victim drove to his home after the stabbing and allegedly told his mother Wilhoite was to blame. He was taken to a Murfreesboro hospital for treatment of what a police report referred to as a “small cut.”
