Stabbing victim stable; man charged

A man was charged with attempted second degree murder following an altercation Saturday afternoon at an East Lane Street home.
Roberto Antonio Orellana Alarcon, 25, of Fritzche’s Trailer Park on East Lane Street is being held without bond at Bedford County Jail.
The victim was in stable condition Monday at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville with a stab wound to the neck, Detective Nathan Everhart of the Shelbyville Police Department said. The wound is not life-threatening, according to Everhart.
Alarcon has confessed to the stabbing, Everhart said. He was charged with attempted murder for allegedly saying he wanted to kill the victim.
A witness told police the victim had gone to a home in the trailer park to borrow $100. Alarcon, armed with a machete, allegedly chased the victim from the home back to a waiting vehicle, “lunged inside” and stabbed him, Everhart said.
The victim and witness left for H.V. Griffin Park and were halfway there before the driver noticed the victim was bleeding, police said.

An ambulance was called to the park.
