Bedford County will enjoy a sunny weekend with high temperatures in the mid-to-upper 70s, great weather to be outside! We will continue to see high temperatures in the 70s next week and above normal temperatures expected for two more weeks. There is no frost coming through October 20th but during the second half of the month it is likely a cold front will drop down from Canada and bring frost.
Portions of the county picked up over 3 inches of rain on Wednesday, a very unusual system for October.
We are near a new moon which means very little moonlight in the nighttime sky which makes for an excellent time for amateur astronomers to see galaxies and other fainter objects at night. Venus will continue to shine brightly just after sunset in the southwestern sky and Jupiter to the southeast at mid evening.
