Things are looking pretty good as we go into the weekend and begin a dry spell of weather that could last five to seven days. Our first winter weather system of the season dropped one to two inches of snow on portions of Middle Tennessee and then temperatures dropped into the teens on Wednesday morning. We may see another chance around the middle of the month so I will let you know more next week.

Mark your calendars for the night of December 13 and the early morning on the 14th for the Geminid meteor shower. Best viewing time is just after midnight and the nearly new moon will ensure dark skies. The Geminids is the king of the meteor showers. It is considered by many to be the best shower of the year and can produce over 100 meteors per hour at its peak if you are viewing from a dark location.
