Eagleville, Tenn. – The number-one ranked team in Class-A, the Eagleville Eagles (20-2, 2-0), completed the season sweep of the Cascade Champions (13-10, 3-3) on Tuesday night, 76-50.

A team-high 17 points from Camden Cole, 10 points from Owen McClaren, and another 10 points from James Bega (pronounced BAY-guh) along with nine points from Grey Barker all contributed to Eagleville picking up its 20th win of the season.

For Cascade, Jason Cullum tied Cole for a game-high 17 points on the night, but he was the only Champion to finish in double-figures. Noah Watson scored nine points while Kaleb Kelso chipped in with seven, but it was not enough to match the balanced attack from the Eagles.

Early on, the Champs were able to hang around despite solid offense from Eagleville. The Eagles took a five-point lead at the end of the opening period, 18-13.

In the second quarter, Eagleville turned up the defensive pressure on Cascade, outscoring the visitors, 15-9, to take an 11-point lead into the halftime locker room, 33-22. Cullum paced Cascade with 10 points in the half, but Cole led all scorers at the break with 14 points. Barker, who tallied a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds in the first meeting back on December 10th, scored six points in the first two periods of play.

In the second half, Eagleville came out firing on all cylinders. Jackson Nichols scored all eight of his points in the first part of the third quarter as the Eagleville lead ballooned to 20 points going into the final frame, 52-32.

The fourth quarter was a formality at that point, but Eagleville kept up the pressure, outscoring Cascade by six points, 24-18, to reach the final 26-point margin of victory, 76-50. Drake Goers scored all eight of his points for the Eagles in the second half, and McClaren put in six of his 10 points in the second half as well.

Cascade falls to 13-10 (3-3) but will look to get back to winning ways on Friday night when they travel to Chapel Hill for a District 9-AA clash, LIVE on The Zinger 100.9 and AM 1400 starting at 5:45 p.m.
