BELL BUCKLE, Tenn. – The Cascade Champions (8-6) completed the season-sweep of Fayetteville City (0-6) with a 79-44 blowout win on Friday night.

Kaleb Kelso finished with a double-double, scoring a game-high 21 points to go along with 10 rebounds while also dishing out four assists. Tristin Billings, coming off of a career-high 35 points in a win over Grundy County in the Moore County Christmas Classic, finished with 14 points, Henry Stone added 13 points, and Ryder Pilkington chipped in with 12 points. 

As a team, Cascade shot 55% from the floor, outscored Fayetteville City 26-12 in fastbreak points, 18-7 in points off turnovers, and 56-8 from points in the paint. The Champs also dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Tigers, 39-22.

For Fayetteville, Brayden Arnold finished with a team-high 17 points on five triples, and he was the only Tiger to finish in double-figures on the night. 

Early on, Cascade managed to take a one-point lead, 16-15, at the end of the opening period. In the second quarter, the Champions created some separation, outscoring the Tigers, 19-7, to take a 35-22 lead heading into the halftime locker room.

Coming out for the second half, Cascade kept slowly pulling away, outscoring the visitors by five points, 18-13, to take a 53-35 lead heading into the final frame. 

In the fourth quarter, Fayetteville City made a run to start the period and had a chance to potentially trim the lead to six points with about three minutes to go, but Henry Stone took a charge against Jayden Thomas to end the rally. Cascade quickly pulled away to reach the final margin of victory, 79-44.

Cascade improves to 8-6 overall. The Champions return to the court on Tuesday night, hosting the Huntland Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on The Zinger 100.10 and AM 1400.
