For Central Magnet, Braylon Payne scored a team-high 13 points on the night while Brady Stone was the next highest scorer with six points.

In Doug Worsley’s first game on the sidelines against his former program of 11 years, Cascade dominated from the opening tip, jumping out to a 12-0 lead behind three-consecutive Rodgers’ triples before ending the opening period of play with a 23-5 advantage.

In the second quarter, the Champions piled on the pressure as Rodgers continued his incredible shooting display, outscoring the Tigers, 21-10, to take a 44-15 lead into the halftime locker room. Rodgers finished the first half a perfect 5/5 from downtown, converted on a four-point play, and tacked on a layup off of a forced turnover.

Worsley liberally substituted as the game went along, despite Cascade’s lead slightly dwindling heading into the final frame at 56-29.

Cascade outscored the Tigers in the fourth quarter, 16-11, to hop back over the 30-point mark and reach the final margin of victory, 72-40.

Cascade improves to 4-3 overall. The Champions head to Loudon on Friday for the Loudon Christmas Tournament where they open by taking on the hosts starting at 7:30 p.m.
