SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – The Shelbyville Central Golden Eaglettes (3-17, 1-6) picked up their first win in District 6-AAAA play this season with a comeback victory over Coffee County (13-12, 3-3), 6-4, on Thursday.

The Eaglettes took the lead in the bottom of the first inning, 1-0, with Janiya Leslie leading off and reaching base safely before eventually coming around to score. Leslie went a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate with a pair of walks as well as three total runs scored.

Shelbyville Central’s Kailey Snell went with Rileah Crutcher in the circle, and Crutcher came up with the goods for her coach, throwing 7.0 complete innings and giving up just one earned run – four total – on seven hits and three walks with two strikeouts on 108 pitches.

Coffee County found a way to pile up four runs in the top of the third inning and take a 4-1 lead, but the Eaglettes would fight back. After neither team scored in the fourth inning, Shelbyville Central plated two runs in the bottom of the fifth to trim the lead to just a single run, 4-3.

After finding a way to plate two, the Eaglettes would score three more the next time they came up to bat, taking a 6-4 lead with just three outs left against Lady Raiders starter, Maddi Scott. Scott pitched 6.0 innings, giving up six earned runs on 10 hits and two walks with six strikeouts on 108 pitches.

Crutcher shut the door on Coffee County by putting up a zero in the top of the seventh to give the Eaglettes their first district win of the 2026 season, and their third win overall.

At the plate, Shelbyville Central out-hit the Raiders, 10-to-7. Leslie was 2-for-2 in the leadoff spot with a double, and Sydney Moore provided pop batting third and finished 3-for-4 with a double and four RBIs. Ja’Mya Anderson went 1-for-4, Sequoyah Young tallied an RBI, and Jeheili Palacios Acuna went a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple and a run scored. Maci Lovvorn delivered an RBI, and Jazzlynn Nowlin went 1-for-3.

Shelbyville Central travels to Centennial on Monday before hosting Warren County on Tuesday to close out the District 6-AAAA slate at 5:15 p.m.
