MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Shelbyville Central Golden Eaglettes (1-10, 0-1) got their first win of the Kailey Snell era at Murfreesboro Central Magnet (1-6, 0-1) on Wednesday, 7-2.

Tenley West got the start in the circle for the Eaglettes, and she was able to work around 14 hits given up in 6.0 innings of work by just giving up two earned runs, stranding 12 Lady Tigers on base in the process. West struck out four batters while walking two on 98 pitches, and her defense played exceptionally well behind her, committing zero errors. Alissa Robb came on in relief to get the final three outs on 11 pitches with one strikeout.

Rachel Plondke pitched 5.0 innings for the Lady Tigers, giving up five runs with three earned on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts on 81 pitches.

After a scoreless first inning, the Eaglettes managed to score the first run of the game in the top of the second, and they doubled their lead in the top of the third to take a 2-0 lead.

Central Magnet fought back to tie the game at 2-2 in the home half of the third inning, but the Eaglettes responded with a 3-spot in the top of the fourth to take the lead for good.

Neither team scored again in the fifth or sixth innings, and then Shelbyville Central tacked on two insurance runs in the top of the seventh inning to seal its first win of 2026.

At the plate for the Eaglettes, Janiya Leslie went 1-for-4 with a run scored, Jeheila Palacious Acuna finished 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs, and a run scored, and Sydney Moore did major damage in the cleanup spot, batting 3-for-4 with an RBI, a double, and a triple.
