MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Shelbyville Central Golden Eaglettes took care of business on the road against the Siegel Lady Stars on Monday night, 55-30, to complete the season sweep.

Shelbyville was led by Lanaya Young’s 14 points on the night while Kenley Patton and Janiya Leslie also reached double figures in scoring, finishing with 12 points and 11 points respectively.

For Siegel, Neela Alexander was the only one to score in double-digits as she put in 15 points on the night.

The Eaglettes, coming off of a six day layoff since their 55-21 win at Centennial, finished off their third consecutive road game in dominant fashion after ending the opening frame with a 19-6 lead. Six different players for Shelbyville scored at least one point in the quarter, including Morgan Pridemore. She made her welcomed return from injury on Monday night, splitting a pair of free throws in the first quarter en route to scoring three points on the night.

Shelbyville outscored Siegel, 10-5, in the second quarter to take a 29-11 lead going into the halftime locker room as five different Eaglettes converted on a two-point field goal in the period.

In the third quarter, Young scored six of her team-high 14 points, helping lead Shelbyville to a 16-9 advantage in the period to take a commanding 45-20 lead going into the final frame. The lead could have ballooned to 30 points if the Eaglettes were more efficient at the free throw line, shooting 8/14 at the charity stripe in the third quarter alone.

In the fourth quarter, both Shelbyville and Siegel ended up scoring 10 points, including six points from Janiya Leslie to lead all scorers in the period, as the Eaglettes put the finishing touches on a 25-point road victory.

Siegel falls to 2-8 on the season.

Shelbyville improves to 5-5 overall and is scheduled to host Tullahoma inside Rick Insell  Gymnasium on Tuesday night, LIVE on WLIJ 98.7 and AM 1580 starting at 5:45 p.m.
