CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Shelbyville Central Golden Eaglettes’ (8-22, 0-8) season came to a close on Friday night at Bradley Central (29-0, 10-0), 102-29, in the Region 3-AAAA Quarterfinals.
Kimora Fields scored a game-high 33 points for the Bearettes while Sanaa Long finished with 23 points. Addie Green added 15, Jada Francis chipped in with 12, and Kiley Johnson scored 10 points.
For the Eaglettes, Jayda Frazier scored a team-high 11 points. She was the only member of the team to score in double-figures. Shelbyville Central committed 20 turnovers as a team to Bradley Central’s four.
It was all Bradley Central from the jump as the defending state champs raced out to a 16-3 lead at the end of the first period. In the second, the Bearettes outscored Shelbyville, 33-11, to take a 49-14 lead heading into the halftime locker room. Frazier scored six of the 11 points for Shelbyville Central while Sequoyah Young added a three.
Coming out for the second half, Bradley Central kept up the offensive output with Long knocking down three triples in the third quarter alone en route to 15 points in the period to lead the hosts. Bradley Central outscored the Eaglettes 37-10 to take an 86-24 lead into the final frame.
With the result in hand, the Bearettes outscored the visitors 16-5 to reach the final tally and officially end the Eaglettes’ campaign.
Afterwards, Shelbyville Central and Keshia Jarrett parted ways. Jarrett finishes with a 24-33 record in her two-year tenure as the Eaglettes’ head coach after finishing 16-11 a season ago.
The Eaglettes’ season ends with an 8-22 record overall.
