SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – The Shelbyville Central Golden Eaglettes (13-3, 6-1) handily took down Marshall County, 4-1, on Thursday afternoon to advance to the District 8-AA Championship.
On Court One, Lilly Smith dispatched Olivia Farrell, 8-3. Addie Berry fended off Laike Perryman, 8-6, on Court Two while Sophie Ray handily took down Amri Armengolt, 8-2, on Court Three. Abby Thaxton suffered the only Eaglettes’ defeat, 5-8, against the Tigers’ Maggie Phillips on Court Four. Elesa Aldis sealed the three-point victory with a dominant 8-1 win over Alanna Hopwood on Court Five.
With the win, Shelbyville now awaits the winner between Lincoln County and Tullahoma for the other spot in the District Championship.
