UNIONVILLE –  The Community Viqueens sprayed the ball all over the field and collected 14 hits in the game, including nine hits in the opening inning that produced eight runs as the Viqueens shut out the Cannon County Lionettes 12-0 in a softball contest Thursday night.
After a walk-off win over district rival Forrest Tuesday night, Community (10-5-1, 3-0) showed no signs of slacking off as the Viqueens sent 13 players to the plate in the first frame to gain their early advantage. 
The first four batters connected on hits as Anna Haskins opened the game with a single, Abby Murrill followed with a triple, Abi Brown doubled, and Zoey Dixon cleared the bases with a home run to give the Viqueens the early lead. 
But the Viqueens weren’t through in the inning as Chloe West and Taylar Wessner singled, followed by a walk to Carlie Blanton to load the bases.  Audrina Bearden emptied the bases with a 3-run double to increase the Viqueen lead.
Haskins leashed an RBI-double and Murrill singled for an RBI in their second at-bats of the inning as the Viqueens took an 8-0 lead heading to the second inning.
The Viqueens finished the scoring with four runs in the second to take a 12-0 lead. 
The game ended on the run-rule in the fifth inning.
Haskins and Murrill each had three hits while West and Wessner finished with two hits for the Viqueens.
Wessner struck out five while allowing three hits and walking two in four innings of work for the Viqueens while Maleeah Martin pitched a scoreless inning of relief.
Community travels to Columbia Academy on Monday.
