CHAPEL HILL, Tenn. – The Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles competed in the District 9-AA Golf Tournament at Henry Horton over the course of Monday and Tuesday, finishing in 6th place out of the eight teams competing after shooting a 386.
Seth Sharp shot an 85, finishing just one stroke away from qualifying for the Region 5-AA Individual Tournament while Ean Delffs, who shot an 86, finished just two strokes out of doing the same. Elijah Derryberry shot a 106 and Braxton Vari shot a 109 to complete the team scoring.
“It wasn’t how we wanted the season to end,” said Head Coach Magen Williams, “but I’m proud of the efort they put in over the past few days to finish out the tournament.”
Coffee County won the competition with a score of 318 to qualify for the regional tournament next week as a team. The Red Raiders were led by William “Jack” Stowe’s 73 followed by Noah Costello shooting an 80, Levi Rossman finishing with an 81, and Jaxon Phillips shooting an 84.
