SHELBYVILLE, Tenn. – The No. 1 overall seeded Shelbyville Central Golden Eagles (15-0, 10-0) punched their ticket to the District 9-AA Team Final with a 4-1 win over rival Tullahoma.
In the doubles matches, Henry Stone – fresh off of his District 9-AA Individual Championship – and Tucker Johnson raced past Eli Martinez and Tommy Pham, 7-1, on Court One. Carter Watson and Tanner Johnson outlasted Fletcher Orr and Joaguin Camt, 8-4, on Court Two to secure the team doubles point.
In the singles, Stone took down Martinez with ease, 8-1, on Court One. Tucker Johnson fell, 6-5, to Tommy Pham on Court Two for the lone Wildcats’ point, but Carter Watson outlasted Stihn Heckman, 8-5, on Court Three as well as Ryan Jaykus taking down Tyler Pham, 8-3, on Court Five to secure the hosts’ victory.
Shelbyville Central hosts the District 9-AA Championship on Monday at 3:30 p.m. against Lawrenceburg.
