BELL BUCKLE, Tenn. – The Cascade Lady Champions (12-3) completed the season sweep of the Fayetteville City Lady Tigers (1-7) on Friday night with a wire-to-wire 86-58 win.
The 86 points are the most scored by Cascade under Janie Demonbreum, breaking the previous record of 72 points scored during a 72-12 win over Mt. Pleasant on February 13, 2025.
Lizzie Keele led all scorers with 24 points while also pulling down seven rebounds and dishing out five assists. Kaegan Young finished with 21 points on 8/10 FG shooting, seven rebounds, and five assists, Caroline Parker added 16 points and six rebounds, and Jade Tolar chipped in with 11 points on a trio of triples.
As a team, the Lady Champs shot 55.9% from the field, including 10/24 (41.7%) from downtown. The hosts outscored Fayetteville 27-11 in fastbreak points, 18-8 in points off turnovers, and they dominated on the glass, 45-28.
Meanwhile, for Fayetteville City, Kayden Parks finished with a team-high 19 points with 17 of them coming in the second half. Jayden Garner scored 13 points while grabbing eight rebounds, and Te’Asia Ewing added 10 points with five rebounds and five assists.
Cascade jumped out in front of the Lady Tigers almost immediately, taking a 24-7 lead at the end of the opening period after knocking down five three-pointers. In the second quarter, the Lady Champs kept their foot on the gas, outscoring Fayetteville City, 20-10, to take a commanding 44-17 lead into the halftime locker room.
Coming out in the second half, the Lady Tigers started hitting some threes, but were unable to string any stops together as the Lady Champs outscored Fayetteville City, 25-20, to take a 69-37 lead into the final frame.
As Demonbreum emptied her bench in the period, the Lady Tigers connected on a handful of triples to outscore Cascade, 21-17, trimming the final margin to 86-58.
Cascade improves to 12-3 overall. The Lady Champions return home on Tuesday night to take on the Huntland Hornets, LIVE on The Zinger 100.9 and AM 1400 at 5:45 p.m.
