BELL BUCKLE, Tenn. – The Cascade Lady Champions (1-1) jumped out to a 30-10 lead at halftime and never looked back on Friday night, blowing out Eagleville (0-2), 55-34, at The Stable.
Lizzie Keele led all scorers with 22 points for the Lady Champs, Kaegan Young added 11 points, and Jade Tolar scored a career-high 10 points in the win.
For Eagleville, Mallory Lawyer scored a team-high eight points as the hosts’ defensive intensity restricted the Lady Eagles’ ability to generate anything on the offensive end for much of the night.
Cascade took an early 12-6 lead at the end of the opening period, then ballooned the lead to 20 by outscoring Eagleville 18-4 in the second quarter to take a 30-10 lead going into the halftime locker room.
The Lady Champs grew the lead to as much as 30 points, taking a 47-20 lead into the final frame before both teams cleared the benches in the fourth quarter.
During halftime of the subsequent boys’ game, Cascade honored Kaegan Young for reaching the 1,000 career points threshold in the season opener.
Eagleville falls to 0-2.
Cascade improves to 1-1 and will begin its Thanksgiving Tournament at Cornersville on Monday morning.
