MANCHESTER, Tenn. – The Shelbyville Central Eaglettes (1-2, 1-1) and the Golden Eagles (3-0, 2-0) took down Coffee County in District 6-AA play on Tuesday, 9-0 and 9-0.
First, for the girls’ doubles matches, Lilly Smith and Lydia Yoes swept Isabelle Saner and Jayna Anderson 8-0 on Court One. The Lady Raiders only brought two players, so the other matches resulted in forfeits.
In the two singles matches, Smith outlasted Saner 8-3 on Court One while Yoes dispatched Anderson with relative ease, 8-0, on Court Two.
On the boys’ side, the doubles matches were a bit more competitive. Henry Stone and Tucker Johnson took down Ethan and Aiden Hayes 8-3 on Court One while Carter Watson and Tanner Johnson outlasted Colin Bryant and Christian Galindo 8-6 on Court Two.
For the singles matches, Stone beat Ethan Hayes 8-2 on Court One, Tucker Johnson dispatched Bryant 8-1 on Court Two, and Watson persevered over Aiden Hayes 8-6 on Court Three. Tanner Johnson took down Galindo 8-5 on Court Four, and Daniel Hernandez outlasted Alfonso Cornijo 8-5 on Court Five.
Shelbyville Central travels to Tullahoma on Thursday and will continue District 6-AA play at 3:00 p.m.
