Suspects run after wrecking stolen car

Two people jumped into a car left running at Fast Lane Market, Madison Street and South Hillcrest Drive, and took off around 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, Shelbyville police said.
The car’s owner ran from the store as the driver backed into a gas pump before speeding south on South Hillcrest.
Security video shows a man and woman wearing dark hoodies and dark pants walking along Madison Street, spotting and taking the car.
The suspects hit a truck a short distance away, disabling the car, and were last seen running behind a fence at a South Hillcrest Drive home. Police searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.
Theft
A gold necklace and two gold earrings with total value of $1,500 were stolen Sept. 1 from a safe at a home on Palmetto Road, the victim told a Bedford County deputy Wednesday.
Security video showed the suspect entering through a broken window, the victim said.
A frequent visitor to the home was named as a suspect.
Shoplifting
Two suspects were charged after charges of shoplifting Tuesday at Dollar General Market, Shelbyville police said,
Winter Shada Simpson, 27, of Rockvale, and Victoria Lynn Herrod, 53, of Lamb Road near Rover were seen on video taking items from shelves, according to store security and police,
More than $181 worth of merchandise was found in Simpson’s purse by officers.
Simpson was held on $10,000 bond on a charge of failure to appear, Herrod was released with no bond set.
