NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Shelbyville Central Golden Eaglettes (3-6) struggled to get anything going on the offensive end in Monday’s loss to Harpeth Hall (4-2), 46-26, at Montgomery Bell Academy.
Jada Berry led Shelbyville with 16 points with eight coming in the fourth quarter, but she was the only Eaglette to score in double-figures.
Meanwhile for the Honeybears, Isa Gelbard led all scorers with 23 points, including all 12 of her first-half points coming from behind the arc.
It was a struggle to score from the very beginning for Shelbyville Central, and they closed the opening period trailing by nine points, 13-4. In the second quarter, Berry found some rhythm offensively, leading Shelbyville with five points, but the Eaglettes still entered the halftime locker room trailing by 14, 27-13.
In the third quarter, Shelbyville once again was held to just four points. Conversely, the Honeybears scored 12 points in the period, extending their lead to 39-17 heading into the final frame.
Berry scored eight of her 16 points in the fourth quarter, but ultimately it was too late to make any dent in Harpeth Hall’s lead. Despite outscoring the Honeybears in the period, 9-7, the Eaglettes fell by 20 points, 46-26.
Shelbyville drops to 3-6, but look to get back to winning ways on Thursday night at home against Summit at 6:00 p.m.
