CENTERVILLE, Tenn. – The Community Viqueens (0-1) went on the road to open the 2025 campaign on Tuesday night, rallying late against the Hickman County Lady Bulldogs (1-0), but ultimately falling, 47-42.

The Viqueens’ Alyssa White was a dominant force inside, scoring a team-high 16 points – 12 of them coming in the second half – while pulling down 16 rebounds and also tallying three steals. She was joined in double-figures by Anna Haskins who chipped in with 14 points of her own.

For Hickman County, Ava Floyd led all scorers with 17 points – 15 of them coming in the second and third quarters – while Karlie Everette connected on two huge threes in the third quarter to finish with eight points total.

The Lady Bulldogs took a 9-8 lead after the opening period, then incrementally grew the lead to 22-19 heading into the halftime locker room. Floyd went to work in the second quarter, scoring nine of her team’s 13 points.

In the third quarter, Hickman County outscored Community 19-10 to take a seemingly insurmountable 41-27 lead into the final frame. Everette scored all eight of her points in the third quarter alone, matching White’s eight points for the Viqueens.

However, in the fourth quarter, the Viqueens rallied behind their ability to get to the free throw line. Unfortunately for Community, they shot 8/12 from the charity stripe, and ended up losing by just five points. The visitors held Hickman County to just six points in the fourth quarter to give themselves a chance, but in the end the Viqueens just couldn’t get over the hump, falling 47-42.

Hickman County improves to 1-0 and hosts Columbia Academy on Thursday night.

Community falls to 0-1 and will host Santa Fe on Friday night.
