COALMONT, Tenn. – The Community Viqueens (26-3-2, 7-0) recorded a pair of run-rule District 9-AA wins on Monday night at winless Grundy County (0-18, 0-8), 23-0 after three innings in game one and 10-0 after four innings in game two.

COALMONT, Tenn. – The Community Viqueens (26-3-2, 7-0) recorded a pair of run-rule District 9-AA wins on Monday night at winless Grundy County (0-18, 0-8), 23-0 after three innings in game one and 10-0 after four innings in game two.
In game one, Annie Prince threw a perfect 3.0 innings, striking out all nine batters she faced on 32 pitches.
For Grundy County, Morgayne Hunt worked through the opening 1.1 innings, giving up 11 runs with six earned on five hits and five walks with one strikeout on 56 pitches. Addison Shrum came on in relief, throwing the final 1.2 innings and giving up 12 runs with five earned on 10 hits and five walks with one strikeout. The Lady Yellow Jackets committed three errors in the field.
The Viqueens scored five runs in the first, then exploded for 14 runs in the top of the second. After plating four more runs in the top of the third to grow the lead to 23-0, Grundy County was unable to score to stave off the run-rule.
For Community in the leadoff spot, Anna Haskins went 1-1 with a pair of walks, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Mattie Maxey went 2-2 at the plate with two RBIs and two walks, Haylee Webb went 1-2 with a double, four RBIs, and a walk, and Carlie Blanton finished 2-2 with four RBIs, a double, and a walk. Alana Tate finished 2-3 with two RBIs and a triple, Alana Clark went 1-1 with two RBIs, and Taylor Wessner finished 2-3 with a home run, four RBIs and one walk.
In the second game of the doubleheader, Haylee Webb got the start in the circle, throwing 3.0 shutout innings while giving up just two hits with four strikeouts on 42 pitches. Gracie Daniel came on to work the fourth and final inning, striking out one batter and sitting down the Lady Yellow Jackets in order on 11 pitches.
For Grundy County, Brooklyn Burrows worked the full 3.1 innings, giving up 10 runs with nine earned on 13 hits and two walks while striking out three batters on 73 pitches.
Community opened the scoring in the bottom of the first by plating four runs before adding five more in the second. The Viqueens didn’t score in the third, but Community walked off the Lady Yellow Jackets in the bottom of the fourth with the 10th and final run of the night to trigger the run-rule.
Aliana Leverette hit leadoff for the Viqueens in game two, finishing 1-2 at the plate with a walk. Kamryn Farrell went 1-3 with a double and a walk, Annie Prince finished 2-3 with one RBI, and Mattie Maxey went 2-2 with three RBIs. Haylee Webb finished 1-2 with a double and an RBI, McKenzie Tucker went 3-3 with three RBIs, and Alana Clark finished 1-2 with one RBI. Brooklyn Yoes went 1-2 with a triple, and Ryleigh Lassiter finished 1-2 with a triple and one RBI.
Community wraps up regular season district play on Tuesday night against Cannon County with first-pitch set for 6:00 p.m.
