UNIONVILLE, Tenn. – The Community Viqueens (5-2) blew out Mt. Pleasant (0-5), 78-16, on Tuesday night to extend their winning streak to four games.
All 12 Viqueens got on the scoresheet, led by Alyssa White’s game-high 12 points. Savannah Pearson was the only other player to reach double-figures with 11 points while Brailey Whitehead finished with nine points.
Mt. Pleasant’s Kylee Martin led the Lady Tigers with five points on the night.
Community jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, finishing the opening period with a 19-6 advantage. Mattie Maxey paced the Viqueens by scoring all eight of her points in the first quarter alone.
In the second quarter, Community kept up the pressure, outscoring Mt. Pleasant, 21-4, to take a commanding 40-10 lead into the halftime locker room. White scored six of her 12 points in the second period while Pearson and Anna Haskins both chipped in with five points apiece.
Coming out of the locker room, the Viqueens extended their lead in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Tigers, 21-6, to take a 61-16 lead heading into the final frame. Community shut out Mt. Pleasant in the fourth, 17-0, to take home the 62-point win.
Community hosts Moore County on Friday night who is coming off of a 56-43 win over Cascade on Tuesday.
