Allen Edward Perry, Jr., age 82, of Shelbyville, TN., passed away June 4, 2026. He was born June 15, 1943, in Tullahoma, TN to Allen Perry, Sr and Opie Holder Perry.
Allen will be remembered as a kind, caring provider. His family meant everything to him. He always made sure everyone and every animal was well taken care of and fed. If you couldn't find him, he was either in the kitchen cooking for his wife, Mary Cathryn, or in the garage working on his cars. He was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. He retired from DREMC where he worked as a lineman. He loved muscle cars and fixing them up, but loved his family even more. He was a long-time member of the Civitan Club and helped at any event that his sister-in-law, Sweet Eve, was involved in. He was a long-time member of the Southern Wheels in Motion car club. He loved attending car shows, cruise-ins, and rod runs. He was always at any event that his grandkids were involved in.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Cathryn; 2 sons Mark (Tish) Perry of Tullahoma, Brian (Bobbi) Perry of Shelbyville, and a daughter Amanda (Mark) Scott of Ooltewah; 6 grandchildren, Nicole, William, Audrey, Claire, Annabelle, and Owen; and 1 great grandson, Haiden; sister Linda Chapman, of Tullahoma, as well as many extended family members, church family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Mt Olivet United Methodist Church on Sunday, June 7, at 3 p.m. with visitation before from 1-3.
