Cheryl Sue Snoddy Reed passed away on Sept. 27, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love that will live on through her family and all who knew her.
Family was Cheryl's purpose in life. Raising her three children was her greatest joy and sole purpose. She devoted her life to loving, caring for and providing for them. Her children were the center of her world and the love she gave them will remain with them always.
Cheryl found happiness in the simple things in life. She enjoyed shopping at Walmart and the Dollar Store, where she could often find something she needed - or something she simply could not pass up. She also loved her cats who brought her companionship, comfort and many moments of happiness.
She will be remembered for her love of family, her devotion to her children and the simple joys that made her happy. Though she is no longer with us her love will continue to live on in her children, her family and the memories they hold dear. She was a mother first, a family woman always and she will be deeply missed.
She was born July 20, 1945 in Nashville; former employee of Uniroyal and a retired Accountant for A.E.D.C. She was a member of Bedford Church of Christ.
Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, James Pruitt Snoddy and Louise Elizabeth Elrod Snoddy; a grandson, Jonathon Reed and a great-grandson, Anthony "Tony" Dickson.
She is survived by her children, Scott (Susan) Reed, Cindy (Jeff) Brown, of Shelbyville, Candy (Mike) Ward of Dyersburg, Tn.; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held 3:30 Tuesday, September 29th, at New Bethel Cemetery (1831 Highway 64 W., Shelbyville, Tn.) with Jonathan Boyce officiating.
