Carole June Keele Ferrell, 82, of Shelbyville, died July 9, 2026, at TriStar Skyline Medical Center. She was born June 17, 1944, in Wartrace, TN. She retired from Empire Pencil Mill after
20 years; retired after 20 years at Fly's Manufacturing Co. and Walmart and was a member of Wartrace Baptist Church.
She was lovingly known as Junie by her family. She loved crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and playing Rook, but more than anything, she loved her grandchildren and great-grandbabies.
She also enjoyed shopping at antique shops for the Bluebirds she collected.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James J. Keele and Pauline Griffy Keele, a daughter, Melissa Carole Ferrell; step-grandson, Donald Crowder Jr.; brothers, Buster Keele, Leroy Keele, Gary Keele; sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Tom Applegate; son-in-law, Don Crowder Sr.; sister-in-law, Rosie Keele; nephews, James Allen Keele and Joe Keele.
Carole is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arthur Dwight Ferrell; her children, Teresa Renee and Jeff Gallagher of Shelbyville, Robert Dale and Sandra Ferrell of Lewisburg; sisters, Mary Holton (David) of Shelbyville, Sandy Grubbs (Kenley) of Wartrace, sisters-in-law, Shannon Keele and Mickey Keele of Wartrace; 3 grandchildren, Bobby Ferrell (Natasha), Phillip Ferrell, Stephanie Cates (Ryan); 2 step-grandchildren, David Crowder, Crystal Crowder; 5 great-grandchildren, Tevan Richardson, Collin Richardson, Ryker Cates, Maddie Cates, Lainey Kate Ferrell; 3 step-great-grandchildren, Mason Crowder, Ryan Elizabeth Crowder, Kallie (Alex) Bryant and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held 2:00 P.M. Sunday, July 12th, at Hillcrest Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Gray officiating. Burial followed at Hollywood Cemetery.
Hillcrest Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
