James Donald “Jim” Brannon, age 68, of Shelbyville, TN., passed from this life on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital.
Jim was born on February 28, 1958, in Shelbyville, TN to the late Raymond Lee Brannon and Charlotte Watkins Brannon. He was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church and alongside of his wife, they owned and operated Celebration Trailer and RV Service for 25 years.
Jim drove trucks cross country for 18 years. He owned JDB Construction and Excavation for several years. He had a God given talent for fixing anything and used that talent to help people if he felt they needed it. He never met a stranger.
Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Debbie Flippo Brannon; children: Christy (Steven) Crossland, Johnny (Anita) Heath, Rose (Buford) Brewer; grandchildren: Blake Brewer, Nathan Brewer, Daniel (Haley) Heath, Derek Heath, Drake Heath, Deborah Heath, Riley Crossland, Haley and Grace Crossland; great grandchildren: Ace Hagele, Kai and Jet Collins; and sister, Tanya Payne.
Along with his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his sister Wanda Elliott.
Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 3 – 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2026, in the chapel of Doak Funeral Home with Steven Flippo officiating. Burial will follow in the Pressgrove Cemetery.
