Mr. James (Jimmy) Henry Fann passed from this life, at the age of 79, on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Ascension St. Thomas Hospital in Murfreesboro, TN.
Born on December 28, 1945, in Rutherford County, Jimmy was the son of the late Henry Lee Fann and Nannie Mae Jones Fann. Jimmy was a man of Methodist faith, devoted husband, father and grandfather who absolutely worshipped the ground his grandkids walked on. They were his pride and joy, and he never missed a chance to spend time with them. He had a deep love for drag racing and tractor pulling, spending countless weekends around engines and good friends. Jimmy proudly served in the National Guard and worked for many years managing NAPA Auto Parts, where he built strong ties in the community and shared his passion for all things automotive. His love for family, country, and horsepower defined the life he lived and the legacy he left behind.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 57 years; Jo Ann Joyce Fann; children; Chris (Kris) Fann of Lawrenceburg, TN, Jeremy (Jennifer) Fann of Bell Buckle, TN, grandchildren; Alexis Fann of Lawrenceburg, TN, Chase Fann and Nick Fann of Bell Buckle, TN, Will (Shelley) Massey of Shelbyville, TN, great grandchildren; Annalise Massey and Allie Massey, siblings; Louise (Randall) Harrell of Bell Buckle, TN, Charles (Angela) Fann of Murfreesboro, TN, David (Debbie) Fann, of Unionville, TN and Pam (Danny) Cooper of Unionville, TN. Along with his parents Jimmy is preceded in death by his sister and brother-in-law Gladys and Joe
Harrell and his faithful companion, Bear-Man.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 20th at Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Gray and Bro. Steve Murphree officiating. Burial will follow in Houston Whitworth Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday April 19th and from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Sunday April 20th.
