Katherine Muriel Moyers Coble passed away January 20, 2026, at Carriage House Inn in Shelbyville, TN.
She was born to Earl and Janie Moyers on June 9, 1925, in a small house on her maternal grandparents’ farm in Delina, TN. Her parents moved to Kerrville, Texas, when she was 3 years old and returned to TN when she was 10 years old.
She met Leonard Dalton Coble in 5th grade at Boonshill school. He became the love of her life and they were married on June 14, 1942. He passed away May 4, 2021 one month short of their 79th wedding anniversary.
She is survived by her two children, Jerry Dalton Coble and Kathy (Jerry) Coble Shearon; her grandchildren, Melinda (Jay) Coble Treu, Amy, Daniel (Shawn) and Michael (Diedre) Shearon, Gerry (Debbie) Kite, Jr and Michael (Ananda) Kite; her great-grandchildren, Katie (Jamie) Shearon Groves, Coble (Kylee) Shearon, Katelen Shearon, Savannah Treu, Sarah Shearon, Cade
Livingston, Alicia Thompson, Mikayla and Kirklynn Kite and her great-great granddaughters Luna Joy Groves & Olivia Rose Thompson and beloved nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard; her brothers Ernest and David Moyers; and her sisters, Marie Cooke and Anita Pate.
During Leonard’s 39-year career with Western Union, she welcomed many of Leonard’s business associates into their home for fellowship and memorable Southern home cooking. She was an expert seamstress, a talented bulletin board creator for her church in Chattanooga, a Sunday school teacher to many children, a woman of great wisdom who often counseled relatives and
friends, a devoted friend to many, many people, and most of all, a lifelong helpmate to Leonard and the best mother 2 kids could ever have in this life.
She and Leonard became members of the Church of Christ in the early 1950’s and worked tirelessly for many years sharing the Love of Jesus’ Kingdom. Her life has been a great example of giving of herself for the benefit of others, as Jesus asked us all to do.
Her family is deeply grateful for the love, compassion and skills from the staff at Carriage House Inn where she spent the last 3 ½ years prior to her passing.
