Miriam Kimbro Nelson Carrick, 102, of Brentwood, TN., died April 27, 2026.
Funeral Services will be held 1:00 P.M. Monday, May 4th, at Hillcrest Funeral Home with the Rev. David Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M.
She was born January 3, 1924, in Bedford County near Rowesville, TN. She was the only child of the late Addie Rene Gardner Kimbro and Newt Kimbro. She was retired from Model Sportswear where she was an engineering clerk. Miriam was a member of First United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, David Nelson in 1967, and her second husband, Haskell Carrick, in 2005, and by her daughter, Wilma Nelson Raney, in 2021.
Miriam is survived by son-in-law, Billy Raney; a daughter, Donna Nelson Hasty (Gary) of Brentwood, TN., step-son Dale Carrick (Sara) of Bristol, TN.; four grandchildren, Dawn Raney Forcht (Bill), Oviedo, Fla., David Raney (Candi), of Shelbyville, Alan Hasty (Alyssa) of Dallas, TX., and Lori Hasty Hooven (Jeff) of Nashville; four step-grandchildren, Michael Neese (Victoria) of Murfreesboro, Tim Carrick of Bristol, TN., Tom Carrick (Natalie) of North Carolina and Katie Carrick of Nashville.; three great-grandchildren, Alyson Reid (Chase) of Santa Fe, N.M., Ellie and Hatcher Hooven of Nashville and two great-great-granddaughters, Ava and Elsie Reid of Santa Fe, N.M.
Miriam was a seamstress and enjoyed many types of hand work;
embroidery, needle point, counted cross stitch, crochet and knitting.
She knitted 2,500 caps for the Sara Cannon Cancer Center and
many others for friends and family.
