Nellie Marie Cook Mearse, 85, of Shelbyville, died July 3, 2026. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 7th, at Hillcrest Funeral Home Pastor Ron Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M.
She was a native of Shelbyville; retired employee of General Electric Manufacturing Co. of Murfreesboro and a member of the Methodist Church.
Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, Theodore Roosevelt Cook and Lillie White Crowell Cook; her husband, Thomas Ray Mearse; and two brothers, Elbert "Bud" Cook and Willie "Buck" Cook.
She is survived by her son, Timothy K. Maupin (Glenda) of Woodbury, TN.; a sister, Betty (Donald) Rogers of Shelbyville; 1 grandchild; 2 step grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and her caregiver, Angela Haskins.
