Roy Russell O'Dell Wix, age 73, of Wartrace, passed away peacefully at his home on
October 29, 2025. Roy was born on November 18, 1951, in Michigan to Reverend Richard and Elizabeth Wix.
He was known for his passion for hunting and his love of East Tennessee, where he spent many years camping and fishing with his family and friends. Roy was an avid gun collector who enjoyed target shooting and sharing his knowledge with others. One of his greatest joys was passing down hunting and fishing skills and a respect for nature.
During his later years, he also thoroughly enjoyed being involved in Celebrate Recovery.
He is survived by his children, Gina (and Lloyd) Davis of Bell Buckle, TN, Russel Wix of Wartrace, TN; his brother Ellery "Sam" Wix of Shelbyville, TN; his grandchildren, Nolan Wix, Alleena Wix, Abigail Wix, Ava Davis, and Kingston Wix. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Doris Walker Wix; and his sister, Patricia Clark.
A memorial service was held November 8, 2025.
