BELL BUCKLE, Tenn. – Playing their second-consecutive game without their superstar forward Lexi Comstock, the No. 1 seed Cascade Lady Champions (12-1-2, 8-0-0) advanced to the District 9-A Championship with an emphatic 8-0 win over the No. 4 seed Huntland Lady Hornets (3-9, 2-6) on Tuesday night.

Olivia Winnett opened the scoring early on before Marissa Gulick doubled the Lady Champions’ lead to 2-0 shortly thereafter. Gulick then nabbed her brace to take a 3-0 lead before the end of the first half.

In the second half, Cascade turned up the pressure. Kenzie Bledsoe found Adalyn Nelms in the box for a fourth goal, then Riley Harris assisted Kaylee Martin to make it 5-0. Moments later, Nelms secured her brace thanks to an assist from Claire Smithson.

Nelms completed her hat-trick minutes later after Harris came up with her second assist of the match to make it 7-0, and then Martin assisted Winnett to complete her brace with the eighth and final goal of the night.
